Oh How Lovely: Pampering myself

  • tiff · 2 years ago
umm, hello I want to join you! I'm only a (short) 4 hour drive away! That sounds fabulous. I've recently become obsessed with spas. Or pampering. Or myself. I'm not sure which one it is.

(PS don't mind me spamming your blog today - I'm catching up from a weeks worth of Google reader!)

Tiff, if you ever come to Chicago, we will go! You are one of my favorite people to read and I would love to have some Beauty and Brunch with you!
  • michelle and the city · 2 years ago
awe that sounds like so much fun. i want to throw my own pajama party now!
  • Miriam · 2 years ago
Why aren't there any places like that close to where I live? I feel like pouting for the rest of the day.
  • Katie · 2 years ago
Oh my gosh, if I lived in Chicago I would totally join you for the Beauty and Brunch...that menu sounds divine!
  • Spunk · 2 years ago
Well if you're ever in my part of the world..I'd be happy to go along with you. I need to do something like that. We all deserve to pamper ourselves once in a while. :)
  • Hope · 2 years ago
It's too bad that you're so far away, because those brunches sound awesome. I had my first facial a few months ago and it was amazingly wonderful.
  • nicoleantoinette · 2 years ago
I LOVE spa treatments. I want to go to one of those amazing spa retreats for like an entire week, or at least a long weekend. But the pajama party? sounds amazing.

I live in NYC- is this too far? lol

    haha, road trip, Nicole!
  • heidi · 2 years ago
i would totally do the brunch one. Though they both sound like a lot of fun!

and i usually respond to the emails i get. I forget to respond on the website, and editting seems like way too much effort. Click reply and wham bam thank you ma'am :)

Oatmeal raisin pancakes?!? I am drooling! Yum! That sounds like great fun.

I know! Me too. It sounds so good and I'm not even a breakfast person!
  • katelin · 2 years ago
Man I wish I lived in Chicago because I would totally go to either of those Spa days with you, they look so fun!
  • Lisa H. · 2 years ago
A trip to the spa is always worth it, and you deserve the pampering with the schedule you have coming up!
  • Hope · 2 years ago
Oooo, the brunch one sounds yummy. I'm a food addict and a manicure addict. So this would be perfect for me!
  • StartingOverat24 · 2 years ago
My idea of pampering is waking up at 2:00 pm in my boxers and parking myself in front of the Nintendo all day with a box of Cheese Its.

    Tomato tomAHto, I suppose.

Cheese Its remind me of when I was a little kid!

well, since i'm a guy, i think i'll have to pass...but i'll meet ya for cocktail after! that's my neighborhood, after all.

Dude. You know you want to go to a pajama party! haha, cocktails work though too!
  • Damsel In Digress · 2 years ago
    ahhh yes! me! me!

Haha, I knew, you'd want to! Seriously. We should go. I want to gooooo!
  • brandy · 2 years ago
I want to do this. Wait. I'm going to do this. Sure, I can't do it in Chicago, but now I have a fun idea for what to do with all my visiting friends over the holidays (you know, before we go out, get drunk and look at all the guys we used to love).

It's such a fun idea. I hope you do it!
  • Julie Q · 2 years ago
Oh wow, both of those sound awesome. If I had to pick between the two i'd go for option 1! The hubs can stay home on Sunday and watch football all day and I go out and play :)

I think brunch sounds the best too. Food! Yum!
  • Princess Pointful · 2 years ago
Ooohhhhh.... I want! Especially the Friday night one!

I actually just got my first facial ever two weekends ago, and it was utterly fabulous.
  • libby · 2 years ago
oh man! after shoveling i could so so use a massage or a spa day!!

and i like your comment idea!
  • Jenn · 2 years ago
I'd love either one of those! They sound too fun!

Come on, Chicago gal! Let's go!
  • Big Time Fancy · 2 years ago
mojo is the place on damen, right? with the weird curved glass windows? to the left of that little shoe store with the mega-expensive rain boots...in what kind of looks like a strip mall?

my fancy lives over there, i've walked past it more times than i can count.

This place is actually on Milwaukee, next to the Bongo Room.
  • Virginia · 2 years ago
Hmm, I think I would go with option 2, since I love dancing in my pajamas. But both sound so fun! I have never been to a spa before, but I'm dying to go. Let us know what you end up choosing!

I've never been either. I can't wait to try it out though!
  • Monica · 2 years ago
Oh my goodness, I love Mojo! Or at the least the people who work there. It's next door to the consignment shop my roommate works at, so I bump into them once in a while but have never actually checked them out. Super nice folks. I have walked by there a billion times.

Anyway, it sounds adorable and I've never gotten a manicure before or done anything really to pamper myself. Hmmm. Maybe it's time to change that.

Monica, we are obviously going to have to try this place out!

Jamie- Let me preface this by saying that I never get to say things like the following, so consider this the exception.

I was just with one of the Modern Salon editors tonight (the ones proclaiming Claudia as the Best in Chicago) and will email Laurel tomorrow for the scoop on what else she recommends. This is my job- spa/salon PR. And for the record, brunch sounds fabulous. It's next to the Bongo Room so I do wonder...

LAST- My Christmas tradition with a good friend from college his hitting up the brownie bar at Bliss for a Hangover Herbie. Budget-wise: Eek, once a year; Experience-wise: I could say something inappropriate but will contain myself. Very good, pretty much ecstasy (not the narc). For a regular basis pamper-fix in town, try the new Spa Forever on Damen. And sorry for monopolizing your post space!

Jessi, that sounds awesome. I would love some recommendations!
  • Stephanie · 2 years ago
Pajama night? Cute idea, that would be fun to do with a friend.

Instead of Chicago, you could just come to NYC and we could all go to the spa here!

haha, if I ever go to NYC, I definitely know who to call!
  • alyndabear · 2 years ago
That sounds fantastic... hope you don't mind if I tag along? ;)

    Come to the States, Aly!
  • Rachel · 2 years ago
That sounds wonderful. I would so be there.

Doesn't it? I really want to go!
  • Ultima Dea · 2 years ago
Thanks for the birthday wishes a few weeks ago! I've been lurking around here since.

Also, being from the 'burbs, but living several states away, reading the various Chicago-based blogs I've found through Big Time Fancy has made me mucho homesick. Good thing my holiday visit is just around the corner. :)

If I end up being in Evanston for grad school, I will ABSOLUTELY come check this place out with you. Student budget be damned!
  • Unnaturally Blonde · 2 years ago
That sounds wonderful, especially in the winter! Pamper yourself!
